We live in a culture of authenticity that, in many ways, is obsessed with truthfulness and sincerity. The current culture of truthfulness, enlightened authenticity, and radical integrity-or desire for it, or expectation of it-occasionally change at diabolical speed.Focusing on the contemporary desire for authenticity, this artistic object seeks to question and “deconstruct” through a strategy of very transparent reversal the topic of the ideals of originality and openly imitate and even plagiarize – sarcastically or otherwise – images of artistic ancestors or of mass culture.
