Terra Batida

“Terra Batida” combines artistic practice, ethnography, journalism and activism in a collective research project about social-environmental conflicts in Portugal, distributed in four main axes: “earth”, “sea”, “forest” and “city”. “Terra Batida” is curated by Marta Lança and Rita Natálio, and invites artists researchers from different areas of expertise (film, performance, visual arts, literature, social sciences, ecology, geography and biology) for collaborative residences. The group is challenged to develop artistic proposals from such contexts and their most pressing environmental and social conflicts.
