A Hora da Estrela

A Hora da Estrela is a show where a performer plays a video game, which uses VR (virtual reality) technology, developed by a programmer, specifically for the project. The device will essentially consist of a 3D video projection that consists of the transmission/streaming of the VR Glasses used by the interpreter. The audience is invited to watch the performer’s behavior as he goes through the game, as well as to immerse himself in his point of view (projected on the screen).

Sustainability practices, Objectives, Communication

Looking for a policy of sustainability, environmental preservation and leveraging digital transition tools, this project aims at internationalization without moving the team and the cast. Taking advantage of video game technology and streaming, the show will take place simultaneously in different European cities. Each theater will have a local interpreter and team.

It will also explore a popular language (Insta, TikTok, 3D games, Youtube, etc.), as well as take advantage of themes that appeal to a teenage generation and beyond, such as the civic movements BLM, LGBTQIA+, SS4C (Fridays for the Climate).
Exploration of New Media and Digital Arts for their ability to appropriate and combine the most diverse fields and creative disciplines.
Dismantling boundaries between art, science and technology.

Create a strong presence on social networks, seeking to reach mainly the younger audience, also through an approach with local schools. A TikTok and Instagram account will be created in order to turn the play’s character into an Influencer. Communication will be articulated together with the project partners and will include the following supports: Newsletter, E-flyer, Promotional Teaser, E-invitation to programmers, partners and the press.
