The word Brazil, was the name given by the Portuguese due to the large number of redwood trees, existing in the region of the Brazilian coast. Brazil derives from ember, because this tree has a reddish sap, the color of ember. For years these trees were extracted and sold to the European continent. In recent years, new migra- tory groups of Brazilians have chosen Portugal to develop academic studies, in search of new job opportunities or simply to leave their country of origin for political reasons. But who are these new Brazilian migrants and what desires do they have when they decide to migrate to Portugal?
