Ainda Marianas

AINDA MARIANAS intends to transpose the “disarray” of texts from the book Novas Cartas Portuguesas, by Maria Isabel Barreno, Maria Velho da Costa and Maria Teresa Horta, converging it with their historical inscription. The dramaturgical construction will not be limited to the selection of texts written by the “Três Marias”: the wealth of existing archival documentation will translate into the inclusion of documents from other sources, namely articles from the press at the time, as well as from the judicial process itself, the authors, and any correspondence from third parties about the case.

Founded in 2013 by Catarina Rôlo Salgueiro, João Pedro Mamede and Nuno Gonçalo Rodrigues, the company is an artistic collective that brings together people from different areas. They work around theatrical projects, based on universal narratives and the creation of a common fiction about reality between artists and audiences. They have presented the shows Hansel e Gretel Dedicam-se ao Futuro em 3 Passos, Rapsódia Batman, II – A Mentira, Marcha Invencível, O Novo Mundo and A Nossa Cidade.
